Jamie Foxx Suffers Injury After Altercation at Birthday Dinner

Jamie Foxx’s birthday celebration turned unexpectedly dramatic when a physical altercation at a nearby table led to the actor being injured.

The 57-year-old Oscar winner was dining with family at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills on Dec. 13 when police responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, authorities determined it was a physical altercation and documented the incident as a battery.

Foxx Injured During the Incident

A spokesperson for Foxx confirmed the actor was hit in the mouth by a thrown glass, resulting in an injury that required stitches.

“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth,” the representative said. “He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”

Foxx had been celebrating with his daughters, Corinne Foxx and Anelise Bishop, along with his ex-partner Kristen Grannis.

Foxx Responds: “Too Blessed to Be Stressed”

Though Foxx hasn’t directly commented on the incident, he addressed fans on Instagram to reassure them of his recovery.

“The devil is busy, but I’m too blessed to be stressed,” Foxx wrote. In a longer caption, he added, “The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me. When your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness… but they don’t know that you’re built for it.”

A Resilient Comeback

The incident comes after a year of recovery for Foxx following a 2023 medical emergency in which he suffered a brain bleed and stroke. Foxx recently detailed his health scare in his Netflix stand-up special, What Had Happened Was, revealing he lost 20 days of memory during his hospitalization and initially required a wheelchair to get around.

Now fully recovered, Foxx has returned to his career with renewed vigor, showing resilience both in his personal life and professional endeavors.

Police Investigation Ongoing

While no arrests were made during the altercation, the Beverly Hills Police Department is continuing its investigation. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges that can arise even in celebratory moments, but Foxx’s positive outlook remains unwavering.
