Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren Return for an Action-Packed Season 2 of 1923

The highly anticipated second season of 1923, the Yellowstone prequel series, is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Feb. 23, and first-look images and teasers promise an intense winter in Montana. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren reprise their roles as Jacob and Cara Dutton, who must fight to protect their ranch as their nephew, Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar), races back to their aid.

“This ranch is under attack. Our way of life is under attack,” Jacob declares in one of the new teasers, setting the stage for the drama to come.

A Legacy at Stake

The Duttons of 1923 are ancestors to the modern-day family at the heart of Yellowstone. While Jacob and Cara don’t have children of their own, they’ve raised their nephew Spencer as if he were their son. Following the horrors of World War I, Spencer sought solace in Africa, where he became a big-game hunter and fell in love with British socialite Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer).

Season 2 sees the Duttons face a harsh winter and mounting challenges to their livelihood as they navigate the looming economic crisis of the Great Depression. Meanwhile, Spencer sets out on a perilous journey back to Montana, determined to save his family and their ranch.

“I am needed in Montana. My family is in danger,” Spencer says in another teaser, highlighting the urgency of his return.

Love Across Oceans

Spencer’s odyssey isn’t the only journey unfolding this season. Alexandra embarks on a dangerous trans-Atlantic trek to reunite with him, determined to reclaim their love and support his mission to protect his family.

A Star-Studded Ensemble

In addition to Ford, Mirren, Sklenar, and Schlaepfer, the cast of 1923 season 2 includes Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Roché, Timothy Dalton, and Jennifer Carpenter.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, the mastermind behind Yellowstone, 1923 is part of Sheridan’s ever-growing slate of Paramount productions, including 1883, Landman, Special Ops: Lioness, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Every episode of 1923 is written by Sheridan, and most of season 1’s episodes were directed by Ben Richardson, providing continuity behind the camera.

Season 1 Returns Ahead of Season 2

To prepare fans for the upcoming season, Paramount Network will air the first season of 1923 starting Dec. 8, following new episodes of Yellowstone’s final season.
